The unemployment figures came out today and they were “higher than economists expected.” Really – who are these rocket scientists and where is the brain-trust located? Maybe they should be unemployed as well since their collective predictive powers aren’t worth spit. Here’s something to help your calculations for next month morons: European socialist tactics will breed European socialist results. It is no coincidence that the average unemployment rate in the European Union is 9.5% - that seems to be where President Obama is headed. Given his public statements recently it appears that he isn’t through wrecking the economy.
I’m going to redouble my efforts to get Republicans elected in
Every election cycle we always hear "this is the most important election in our lifetimes".
ReplyDeleteWell, this time it REALLY is.
I don't understand why the unemployment numbers are so high. After all, Obama gave a speech. Doesn't that fix everything?
ReplyDeleteIf you add in the fact that we not only have high unemployment but also have a lot of "lousy employment" (meaning so many of the jobs out there really suck) we are in a deeper catastrophe then most people think. In many cases what is passed off as a good job today would have been considered a joke 20 years ago. In some communities the local McDonalds is the largest employer. Quite sad.
ReplyDeleteH-Nox, Agreed - I think that it seems that we say that because we are fighting against the same enemy and they have gained an enormous amount of ground on us.
ReplyDeleteTenth, Yes - it will be wonderful to have an adult in charge someday such that a problem will generate a solution and not a speech.
Paladin, Very good point - America feels infinitely worse than the numbers would indicate.
The obama administration seems to have a nasty habit of releasing figures...and then issuing a "correction" later on after folk's attention is drawn elsewhere.
