Wisdom of Ben Franklin

I read once that the Constitutional Convention of 1787 was the greatest collection of “intellectual candle power” in the history of our Nation. Certainly watching the buffoonery of Speaker Pelosi and Leader Reid, one has to be depressed at how low we have sunk since that point. From one of the guys who was there:

"The ordaining of laws in favor of one part of the nation, to the prejudice and oppression of another, is certainly the most erroneous and mistaken policy. An equal dispensation of protection, rights, privileges, and advantages, is what every part is entitled to, and ought to enjoy." --Benjamin Franklin, Emblematical Representations, 1774
