And then there were four . . . . . .

Well it looks like I have to take a razor to the family vehicles to remove the Perry decals from the windows.  I haven’t handicapped the race in quite awhile as I had picked my guy and I was just waiting for the rest of America to see things my way.  Well as of 11:12 AM EST today that ain’t happening.

Though I think that I am going to have to hold my nose and vote for Mitt Romney twice (once in March to prevent lunatic Ron Paul from taking the Virginia primary and then again in the general election) it isn’t time to give in yet and I’m not going to roll my support to Mitt Romney.

Though I do think that Newt Gingrich is a true conservative and that he is both the smartest and most aggressive candidate in the race – I’m not sold yet.  I think that Newt’s tactics and response to Romney have been deplorable while showing his berserker mode and that makes me uncomfortable.   I also don’t want to relive Newt’s marital problems for the next nine months either.

That brings me to Ron Paul – he’s utterly mad.  His foreign policy would actually be worse than Barack Obama’s.  His domestic policy has some real potential, but even there he’s so unbalanced that there’s no way we could ever trust him in the Oval office.  Given his record in Congress he’s been nothing but an irritant – a gargoyle who takes the stage whenever possible to run off at the mouth.  Go home Ron and seek professional psychiatric care.

That brings me to former Senator Rick Santorum.  Given the white hot hate that abortionists and homosexuals have for him – he’s gotta be good.  If you really do gauge the quality of a man by his enemies, Rick has a bunch and they are the most vile and evil creatures there are.  Baby killers and perverts.  Truth be told, I would prefer that Rick had of run a rifle platoon or a State – but right now he just became my guy.  There will be a Rick Santorum sweater vest in my closet shortly.

    1. Clyde,

Until we institute the Presidential Draft - we have to deal with an All-Volunteer system. These folks all have the courage to step forward and run - and yes, any of them would be better than Obama.

  2. Amigo,
Sad news indeed. I don't like Santorum. He reminds me of the schoolkid that was always kissing the teacher's ass. During the debates he's always bashing on Paul instead of defining what he will do to fix this country.

I'm willing to be sold on Santorum but I prefer Newt because he's a brawler, and I think it will take a brawler to kick zero out of the WH.

Like Clyde, I will vote for anyone but BECS.

    1. Hardnox,

No doubt Newt is a brawler - I wish he had less in his background to brawl about.

  3. CS,

Finally. After four years I've finally got you thinking straight.

Welcome aboard. Now get to work getting him, and Newt if he stays in, on the ballot in Virginia. It should be criminal to leave a serious potential candidate off the ballot. Get it fixed.

Can you write in in the primary?

    1. Tenth,

You have to admit that I did vote for your man Hichabee in the Virginia primary.

Perry was the lead plaintiff on the suit - with him dropping out I don't know if there is a chance. I don't think that Santorum even tried to get on the ballot in Virginia. Not sure he has the standing to protest that it was too hard.

No write-ins in our primary. Remember the purpose of a primary is for Virginia's Republican Party to pick its candidate. The same rules don't apply as in a general election. We could have (and should have) had a convention where no one was invited except members of the GOP.

  4. The comment I posted on my blog about Rick Perry dropping out and shifting my support to Newt Gingrich was posted before last night's debate. I had completely overlooked Santorum. I agree with you about Newt being strong. I was pleased with how he handled the first question of the evening; very pleased. But I think Rick Santorum took the night. I think Romney bombed. I've got more time to see how things pan out before they get out here to Washington state.

    1. Right,

What you do bet that John King had to go change his drawers at the very first break. Watching his face was priceless.

However I think that Santorum has far fewer personal failings to defend. I would prefer this debate to be about Obama and not ex-wives.

    1. Mrs. AL,

Tenth Generation Patriot had my right arm bent behind my back and up over my head.

To a degree it is a moot point. You and I have two choices on March 6th - Mitt Romney or Ron Paul. I'll vote for Romney. November is a long way from now and it's too early to roll over in my opinion.

If I was a betting man my money would be on Romney - but as a conservative I feel it's necessary to fight on to show Romney the strength of the American Right even if he eventually wins our Party's nomination.

  6. What is wrong with your governor? I am completely baffled why other Republicans are willing to let Romney be in their club.

    1. Tenth,

I think that the math is pretty obvious. Bob McDonnell is a Republican governor, he's the president of the Republican governor's association, his close friend Republican governor Rick Perry just dropped out, and like me he probably believes that the best preparation for being a good president is to be a governor.

Mitt Romney was a Republican governor.

  7. CS,just a slight disagreement. DO NOT be deluded into thinking King had to change his laundry. This SOB is absolutely shameless, like the rest of the damnable liberal media. Throwing that question AT THE START was a HUGE feather in the moron's "journalista" hat. You can bet the farm the REST of the libmedia idiots were whooping and fist-pumping at that. THEY believed Newt would stammer his way through, and slink away.Didn't work. Give Newt a lot of credit for figuring the asshole would set that table out of the gate.

    1. Clyde,

You are probably right - but looking at his face between the second and third salvo from Newt, I couldn't help but think that this thought was running through John King's mind:

"S**t, this is going to go viral on YouTube before I get home tonight."

There are at least a dozen versions of it on YouTube now. "Newt Gingrich ***RIPS*** into John King" has over 75,600 views and "Gingrich Wins The GOP Debate In The First Five Minutes" has over 238,000 views.
