How “Illegal” is “Illegal?”

I caught a clip of radio personality Lars Larson on Fox news today.  He was being interviewed by Megyn Kelly about the results of a study by the Migration Policy Institute that pointed out that illegal aliens were being deported for minor crimes and not simply severe crimes.  That was actually in our local paper the News & Messenger this morning.  Fortunately Lars began his comments by correcting Megyn’s tortured attempt to white-wash illegal aliens.  He pointed out that not only had these people knowingly and willfully violated our laws by coming here but they violate other laws in order to stay.  Their crimes could include identity theft (stealing someone’s Social Security Number to secure employment) or they may make false official statement to obtain a driver’s license, medical care, housing, social services, or employment.  They are most often evading taxes in a variety of forms.  Many are driving around without the benefit of a valid driver’s license and without insurance.  They have created an underground society that thumbs their collective noses at our laws, our cultures, and common courtesy.  Those illegally among us sap our strength by burdening our social safety net and diminishing our National character.  Illegal Aliens are very illegal as it turns out. 

A friend just made me aware of a statement made some time ago by an over burdened hospital administrator.  Listen to the statement of Carol Plato about the cost of illegal aliens to the Martin Memorial Medical Center (Florida).  This is staggering.  Imagine if this is happening in all of the 3,000+ counties in the United States.  One of her examples of an illegal alien’s medical bill of $1.5 million, plus a $30,000 trip back to Guatemala, and then the $250,000 in legal bills stemming from the ridiculous nuisance suits by the illegal alien’s relatives angry over his “deportation” at the hands of the cash strapped hospital – that one illegal alien has cost Martin Memorial nearly $2 million.  Extrapolate that over the 3,143 US counties and the bill is $5.6 Billion. 

Given that we really don’t have any idea how many illegal aliens are here – we can’t possibly know how much wastage is caused by a population that is between 12 and 20 million. 

It doesn’t matter whether an illegal alien is picked up for a traffic ticket, a DUI, rape, or murder – they are already a criminal with a history of crimes against our society.  Deport them immediately.
