No One Pledges Allegiance to Congress

It is interesting to watch all the mock horror about the failure to inform Congress of specific intelligence programs. News Flash to Congress – no one in the Department of Defense or the Intelligence Service swears allegiance to Congress. All officers in the military and the CIA pledge allegiance to the Constitution. (Barack are you paying attention? No one swears allegiance to you either)

One of the most important intelligence programs in modern American history is the Venona project. In the early 1940s the army broke the Soviet Union’s code used by the diplomatic services. Wouldn’t you like to read your enemy’s transmissions? As soon as the success of the code breakers was reported to the Roosevelt administration, it was leaked to the Communists. Further Roosevelt ordered that the program be terminated. Fortunately for the security of the Nation, the army ignored the order and concealed the program from democrats and continued to undermine communist influence in the United States.

It shouldn’t be hard to draw parallels to today. Charlie Rangel, Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank, Bernie Sanders, not to mention Barack Obama wouldn’t be able to get security clearances were it not for ignorant voting populations who put them in office. So what is the specific duty of the Central Intelligence Agency (not to mention the Department of Defense)? Spill their guts to Congress or support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic?

I vote for the CIA to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies of the United States.
