Serial Liars

A friend recently sent me an old joke retooled for today’s environment – you might have seen it:

A new resident of Heaven walks into Saint Peter’s office where the walls are covered with clocks. One appears to be broken as the hands are not moving. He is told that it is a Pope’s clock and in heaven the hands only move when the Pope tells a lie. Interested the man asks if everyone has a clock and is told that they do. He asks to see Barack Obama’s clock and is told to look up – the hands are moving so fast that Saint Peter is using it as a ceiling fan.

Funny in a tragic sort of way. But what I found really interesting is that the last time I saw that joke was during the agony that was the Clinton administration. Isn’t it amazing that though President G.W. Bush and Vice President Cheney are widely accused by liberals of lying, that joke never surfaced as a Bush clock or Cheney clock. It is probably because even the most ardent liberal knows that Bush and Cheney were men of honor and that we could trust them. They weren’t liars. Not so with Clinton and Obama who are both serial liars, but it doesn’t stop there.

Think about the very public and unabashed lying that is going on. If you discount Governor Mark Sanford’s lie to cover up his Argentinean tryst, the public liars are all Democrats: Nancy Pelosi (CIA Water-boarding), Tim Geithner (Taxes), Charlie Rangel (Taxes), Tom Daschle (Taxes), Chris Dodd (AIG bonuses and sweetheart mortgage deals), Barney Frank (everything financial), Harry Reid (Health Care), and John Edwards (everything sexual). Of course the mother and father of all liars is late comer President Barack Obama who seems bent on making up for lost time. Looking through the transcript from his talk to Republican House members in Baltimore recently there seems to be a lie in virtually every paragraph. I found the video and a full transcript at The Huffington Post.

To those who would say that there is no moral difference between Republican and Democrats – you couldn’t be more wrong. There seem to be just enough bad Republicans to give fodder for the left-wing kooks, but being a liar seems to be a prerequisite to being a Democrat office holder.

Some People Are Alive . . . . .

It is said that some people are only alive because it is illegal to kill them. That was certainly true of the evil late-term abortionist George Tiller. Finally Scott Reoder got tired of waiting for God to take Tiller and Scott did it. I’m sure that God approved, though a Wichita jury didn’t. Of course Tiller and his crimes against nature weren’t put on trial, only Reoder who admitted pulling the trigger.

I guess that using a pistol to pop Tiller in the head at close range is a bigger sin than using a sonogram to locate a baby’s head and then ramming a metal suction probe into it to suck out the brain. In both procedures a human head is irretrievably damaged – but for some reason Tiller’s death is a crime while the untold thousands of babies that died at his hands is not. That is too bad.

I guess Joseph Stalin was right when he said that “one death is a tragedy, the death of millions is a statistic.” That certainly seems to be true in America where abortion supporters are crowing about the conviction of Reoder for one death while more than 40 million babies have been killed since Roe v. Wade made abortion on demand legal. The prosecutor said that Reoder’s act was planned and deliberate – so was Tiller’s act of plunging a suction probe into the head of thousands of babies. Scott Reoder might be in jail tonight, but I suspect that George Tiller is keeping Teddy Kennedy company in a particularly nasty corner of hell. I’m glad that Tiller is dead. Maybe it will make other abortionists rethink their murderous occupation.

The State of the Union Fantasy

I have watched many of President Obama’s speeches with wonder, but I have never had a response to one of his speeches as I did to his State of the Union. One has to begin to believe that Obama’s handlers aren’t letting him read a newspaper or watch the news beyond MSNBC. I really was stunned.

I actually expected better. I thought that he might have admitted a mistake or two and extended an olive branch – he did exactly the opposite. He is planning; indeed he is eager to double down on disaster. While some are reeling at the “unexpected” bad news – this is exactly what the Congressional Budget Office said would happen if the Porkulus (aka Stimulus) package was passed. CBO predicted that it would be worse for the economy and the recovery than doing nothing at all. This is a consequence that the Porkulus bill shares with nearly all Democrat solutions. Yet the President states unabashedly that “all economists” agree. That is patently false – it is a bald faced lie – and he knows it. That was his lead-in and it got worse.

Purely by accident I caught the tail end of a special about Saddam Hussein on The History Channel yesterday. In the closing hours of Hussein’s life he was still convinced that he could talk his way out of a death sentence and back to being in charge of Iraq. That recalls stories of Adolf Hitler in his bunker ordering around non-existent divisions as the Soviet Army was attacking into the suburbs of Berlin in World War II. That was the vision I was getting of President Obama’s particular brand of insanity.

Heaven help us. I notice from my mail and e-mail that the political season leading up to the November election has begun. It is time to pull ourselves out of this nightmare. It means walking neighborhoods, working phone-banks, and sending money to the right candidates. The other side is going to franticly try and hold onto power – time to show them the door.

I can’t imagine Why He Isn’t a Corporate Giant

I was in line at the grocery store today. I had stopped for a few things and I was behind a man and woman with a college age son. They were engaged in a discussion with the clerk about how difficult the job environment was. The mother had allowed that her son couldn’t seem to find a job and was taking time off from the local junior college. Meanwhile her son, an obese young man perhaps 19 or 20 was furiously unwrapping a package of frosted cupcakes. I guess that he had expended too much energy in walking through the store and needed some quick sustenance. The clerk said that her “step-grandson” was having such a hard time finding a job that he was going into the army. At which point she said, “It scares me, I really don’t think that this is the right time for joining the army.” Before I could say anything, fatty said around a mouthful of cupcake, “I would never take a bullet for my country.” And such a large target too.

I said, “I’m very sorry to hear that. I served for 22 years in the Marine Corps and it can’t always be someone else’s son.” I don’t think piggy got it. He responded that you could catch a bullet right here at home. I replied that you wouldn’t if you were behaving yourself. That kind of put a damper on the conversation. Neither the mother or father came to the defense of their idiot cow son, they just looked down. No doubt ashamed – or maybe afraid – I don’t much care which. The clerk quit whining about the number of hours the store was allotting employees and shut up as well. They completed the remainder of their transaction in silence. Better. Fatty waddled out into the parking lot as the clerk totaled my five items. As I left I wished her “step-grandson” well and she thanked me.

Now I am packing way too much weight, but this kid was huge by comparison. I bet he can’t figure out why a 350 pound sort-of-college dropout can’t get a great job. Hell – I have news for him – the army wouldn’t take him either. What a piece of crap. I saw them across the parking lot – probably oblivious to how much contempt and revulsion I have for them. I toyed with enlightening them, but I had better things to do. I bet you they voted for Barry.

Brown's Election Saved You -

The Honorable James Webb and Mark Warner,

Ironically enough, the election of Scott Brown in Massachusetts may well have saved you and your colleagues from making a series of disastrous mistakes. Had you been successful in getting that Health Care monstrosity signed into law; the effect on the Nation would have been catastrophic. The effect on the Democrat Party would have been entirely satisfying – it still might come this November. You have a chance to recover; I hope you don’t waste it.

First – dump Health Care as an issue. It never was an “emergency” and you know that. Put a bullet in Cap and Trade while you are at it. Focus on shrinking the Federal Government and cutting taxes. I think that a good start would be to cut Congressional expenses by 15% and cut Congressional travel allowances by 50%. Show a little leadership.

Halt the ruinous Stimulus spending immediately. Eliminate any authorization for spending that hasn’t already taken place. Plow the recovered TARP money right back into the Treasury to eliminate debt. Impose an immediate spending freeze on all discretionary government spending. While exempting the Defense and Homeland Security budget, impose an immediate 10% spending reduction on all branches of the government. Follow it with another 10% reduction next year and the year after that.

Save the country Billions by stopping the closure of the Guantanamo Bay detention facility and try all those vicious murders there instead of New York City. I like Scott Brown’s idea – spare no expense in killing or capturing terrorists while eliminating expenditures to defend them.

You have been given a second chance to do the right thing. You and the rest of your Party were hurtling towards a cliff and dragging us along with you. Reverse direction now.

Sincerely Yours,

What a Week!

Pat yourself on the back America – we had a great week. Who would have ever thought that we would appreciate Massachusetts again? But Tuesday’s overwhelming victory by now Senator-elect Scott Brown was an enormous boost. Check out this story from the Boston Globe – “Democrats hear an overdue message.”

Watching Nancy Pelosi choke out that there weren’t enough votes in Congress to pass the health care debacle was splendid.

Then Thursday the Supreme Court struck a blow for the First Amendment by rolling back part of the McCain-Feingold affront to the Constitution. See “Supreme Court Upholds the First Amendment” at MyHeritage.org.

But the week wasn’t over – in all the jubilation Air America folded up the communist flag and went off the air as well. I only stumbled across their hate-filled screed once, but apparently no one else was listening to their crap either.

Let us keep up the intensity through November – can you even imagine how good it will feel to see Harry Reid go down to defeat? And watch a new Republican Speaker of the House sitting over Obama’s left shoulder at the State of the Union in 2011? Stay the course – keep fighting.

How do you like that Teddy?

As Martha Coakley walked up to give her concession speech last night, I thought I heard a particularly mournful wail from the direction of Hell. I think it was Former Senator Edward Moore “Ted” Kennedy as he contemplated a Republican butt in the seat he stained for so long in the United States Senate. I hope Senator-elect Scott Brown has some Lysol in that pickup truck.

Further, what a wonderful gift for our lame-duck President on the one-year anniversary of his inauguration. Happy anniversary Mr. Obama, now you know what it feels like to be caught in a tsunami, a freedom tsunami. We will hear a mournful wail from Karl Marx’s corner of Hell come this November.
